New Life In New Mexico

In Los Lunas, New Mexico, (Albuquerque) a budding new mission of the Anglican Province is taking root. Father Marc Wilson lovingly and energetically cares for the burgeoning flock that gathers under the name of Jesus' Evangelical Mission. Yesterday, the "house" was packed to overflowing as the faithful gathered for worship. Bishop Frederick Fick was visiting and joy filled the sanctuary.

Jesus' Evangelical Mission is a very special place; alive with love of children, family and most of all, alive with the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Marc says, "As Anglican priests, there is a sense in which we are called to our entire community, not just to the people of our parish".

Moving about the village of Los Lunas with Fr. Marc, it quickly becomes apparent that he seems to know everyone and everyone seems to know him. With contagious warmth and good humor, Marc ministers to everyone he meets as a living vessel of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

MSJ - Diocese of St Augustine Synod

The Missionary Society of St John hosted the Diocese of St Augustine in a joint Synod this past week. Much more than a time of church business, the days were filled with worship, fraternity, and the refreshing of the Holy Spirit's presence. A renewed fervor for sharing the Gospel and fulfilling the great commission was evident. Everyone it seemed, was returning to their portion of the vineyard refreshed and invigorated. We praise God!

Bishop Amos A. Fagbamiye of CANA brings greetings and strong words of encouragement.

+Walter Grundorf, APA presiding bishop, addresses the synod.

Thirty-six clergy representing 24 parishes, missions and ministries gather for the obligatory "group shot".

The bishops bless the oil of chrism and the oil of anointing the sick.

Diocese of St. Augustine - New Parish In Idaho

Two weeks ago, Bishop Larry Shaver confirmed two dozen people and blessed the founding of an exciting new parish, Grace Anglican Church in Boise, Idaho.

At the Diocese's fall clericus at Nashotah House, Father Don Hughes (wearing the chasuble) was ordained a priest and Deacon Jose Landaverde (wearing the dalmatic) also took vows in holy orders, while family and friends shared in the wonderful day.

Slide Show Of Anglican Worship

Recently, we have had the pleasure of speaking with other bishops of the Federation of Anglican Churches about the future of Anglican unity and orthodox witness here in the United States and how our Society might participate.

We want to express our deepest appreciation to the Rt. Rev. Ray Sutton of the Reformed Episcopal Church and the Most Rev. Larry Shaver, Diocese of St. Augustine, the Anglican Province of America, for their kind words of welcome, warm hospitality and wise direction.

We look forward to future conversations and co-operation in mission and ministry with these leaders and with their respective churches.

On another note, a terrific slide show of a recent confirmation/ordination service at St. Andrew's EMC, Gainesville, FL has been posted here.

Have patience, as it takes a minute to load. Make sure you sound is up.

Take a look into the beauty and holiness that is Anglican worship. For those who would like a glimpse into what makes Prayer Book worship so special, this might give you some insight.
